So I went to pay property taxes today at the new Collin County Administration Building, and see they have a giant 30.06 sign on the glass. Now this building is new, and thus was built after SB501 was enacted making 30.06 at Govt buildings an exception to application.

Not sure what to make of it - are they ignorant of the law, do not care, etc.

Anyway I just paid my taxes and left.

I know 30.06 is not needed for buildings with courts, but I am curious if there is a court there?

No the old location (across from Sams) was a a court building and also had metal detectors. The new location is admin only. I did a quick check and did not see any courts either physically or in the index . The new courthouse (the one TV stations do live remotes from, is another building further away).

IMO, 30.06 has no place on any TX GOVT owned building. The 46.03 offenses have nothing to do with 30.06. If they want to say it is a court building (or polling, or school, etc), they should reference 46.03 so folks know.
