Fail. 300 Blackout Rem 700 AAC-SD not ejecting.
I have a very new, 2 months, Remington 700 AAC-SD 300 Blackout, the grey 16.5" Houge model. Bought new.
It extracts fine from the chamber. The extractor appears ordinary.
As the tip of the spent case clears the ejection port it just falls free into the upcoming round.
The ejection plunger seems to have free movement and normal spring force.
It just hasn't enough oomph/energy to be tossed to the right and out.
Unless I tilt the whole rifle 45-90 degrees to the right the round just obstructs the function.
It did it occasionally at first.
Now 50% at least.
Wondering if the extractor isn't holding the casing closely enough to the bolt face or what.
The very short 300BLK casing is awfully short even for the short 700 action.
Short of asking for a refund or sending it in to remington is there anything I can mess with or tweak.
I'm a tinkerer but have not punched out the ejection plunger roll pin or ordered a new extractor.
Not much else to "adjust".
Anybody have suggestions or similar firearm foibles???
