Hello everyone! U.S. Army vet (80-83) from Houston making my first appearance in the forum. Got my LTC this month. No real reason for doing it other than keeping all options available. Growing up in a small South Texas town, I have extensive firearms experience from my father teaching me how to shoot with a 22 long rifle as well as formal training as an Army Infantrymen! I also completed a 500 hour regional police Academy at Del Mar College in Corpus Christi in the mid 80s. After spending 40 hrs on the range I'm proud to say that out of my class of 25 I shot a 98 percent. Best in the class. When I qualified for the LTC class in March I hadn't fired a round in 25 years. Proud once again to say I nailed it and was congratulated by the instructor and my classmates. I'm old school and have a very strong preference for revolvers. Not bashing semi autos. I have several of them. Every misfire I have seen on a range has been with a semi auto. I have training in close quarters combat and have come to rely on perfectly executed shot placement as to simply overwhelming a combatant with a barrage of semi auto fire. My top priority in regards to firearms is safety first. Never can be to careful. Currently I am a project manager for a large civil engineering firm here in Houston. My wife and I have two daughters and I have 5 beautiful grandchildren. My oldest granddaughter graduated from Angelo State University this past Saturday! Thanks for letting me share and I'm looking forward to participating in forum!
