I've noticed this on other forums and would like to give all of you a heads-up.
One of the latest tactics by forum spammers is to try and mimic forum administration and then send you a warning or alert message via PM. The messages almost exclusively want you to visit another website, or download a particular program.
DO NOT CLICK ON THOSE LINKS OR DOWNLOAD ANYTHING.
You will be downloading a virus or keylogger program that seeks to gain access to anything you have safeguarded with a password. Simply visiting the website, without any safety precautions, can upload the keylogger.
When in doubt, please send me a PM so that I can verify that I sent you something. I only use this screen name for administrative purposes, so if it says anything other than Texas1911 or Sig_Fiend, you need to send me in a PM their username so I can delete them from the forum.
Be careful of this on other forums. I haven't seen it here, but we also have safeguards on PM ability for this very reason.
