New here, really like this forum, and TONS of great information in this sub-forum.

I paid my CHL fees on the TXDPS website. My packet arrived a few days later. My PIN was printed in my paperwork, so there's one good thing. My packet also contained the most current CHL laws/statutes booklet.

Another plus was that all of my personal information (DOB, address, etc...) was printed out. That eliminated a lot of handwriting, and rules out anythng I would've written as being illegible.

It only took 4 business days after DPS received my packet for my status to change to "Processing Application". That's WAY faster than I thought it would take.

I wonder if DPS started doing anything when I paid, or when they got the packet. I suspect they waited for the packet. Either way, it seems to have (possibly) sped the process up.
