Someone at a gun show a few months ago told me that's it better to use hollow point ammo because on plated fmj ammo there is exposed lead that can foul the supressor.

    Any truth?

Depends on the ammo. With most FMJ there will be exposed lead at the rear of the bullet which gets vaporized and fouls up your suppressor. Hollowpoints have the exposed lead at the front so it won't get as hot and vaporize as much. The cleanest ammo will be fully enclosed or solid copper.

That said, I don't know how much of a difference there would be in suppressor life.
