I highly recommend you read through this research study. It was performed by an independent research group, paid for by some of the usual suspect gun control organizations. In case the link goes down, just Google "Preventing Gun Violence Through Effective Messaging" and you'll find dozens of places to download it.

In this 80 page e-book, laid out are the tactics for engaging the American people with what could be accurately described as techniques that are effectively psychological warfare. Strategically, arguments are crafted to play to people's emotional and logical weaknesses, working towards convincing the layman or uninformed opponent to support their various positions and arguments. This is an important look into the mindset of those we face. And make no mistake, they are the enemy of the American people. As far as I'm concerned, it's also good proof as to why we really can't afford to "compromise", as they will always make it to our disadvantage.

Frankly, this stuff makes me sick. Worse yet, that the research study was performed and funded by Americans, ultimately towards the aim of disarming and decreasing the safety of Americans. I honestly have to wonder if there is a case that could one day be made, that such actions could potentially be violations of various sections of 18 USC Chapter 115 (Treason, Sedition, and Subversive Activities). I'm not a lawyer by any means but, there has to be a line in the sand somewhere, where actively pursuing certain things that decrease the safety of our country are actually illegal. Enough mindless ranting from me tonight. Discuss.

Wow just, wow. Blatantly admitting that they should resort to appeals to emotion to get their point across because they can't win with hard facts...... If these tactics actually work then we have a much, much bigger problem......

Gun control is not about safety rather controlling people, liberals by and large are socialist/communist wannabees. Liberals are only happy when they control people much like some religions have a cult like agenda.

Wow that was horrendous, couldn't finish. They want to try and win an emotional fight? Ok sure how about this: grow a pair of nuts and stop being scared of guns and criminals...this is the home of the brave bitches!

16 of their cites come from MYAG, violence policy center, or Law center to prevent gun violence. Basically, the brady campaign. They are citing their own organization to support their BS.

Most of the other cites are from just as flawed sources, mostly articles written by liberals who take their facts from Brady organizations (so still citing themselves), adn one by the Illinois Council Against Gun Violence, probably another brady org.

On the plus side, most of the suggested counter points are easily refuted.

They're focusing on the emotional points (easily beaten, that's even stated on the report). But they also said, in the report, that they always win the "logical" argument. I'd like to know what that is and what classifies as a "win" lol...

Best way to defeat them: Take a few people to the range and introduce them to firearms.

Let them see how deadly they are firing "20 shots in 10 seconds" from an AR.

I think a lot of people don't realize how hard it is to hit anything, much less hit fast. Not like the movies where you just stuck the gun out and pull the trigger sending the bad guy flying through 6 walls.

What a load of crap that is. I really enjoyed seeing the suggested responses to the "strongest opposing argument" for our side. They apparently can't stay on topic, or make a credible point.

Right?! If they'd only spend as much time and money on proper firearm instruction/handling/etc as they did on this drivel...oh wait, that's what the "evil" NRA does with a high level of success. Oops...

Doing something productive with a positive outcome has absolutely nothing yo do with FEELINGS. Total waste of time.

Every gun fearing citizen I ever introduced to the shooting sports came back later and wanted to know where they could buy the same firearm they shot for the lowest price possible. It works every time.

A gun gives the shooter a warm and fuzzy feeling of being in control of their fears and of personal safety.

Most remarkably, young mothers with children respond better than even young men who would rather chase pussy than go to a range where there are no drugs and alcohol.
