Another Brand New Shooter

Today the grandson came out to use his Christmas gift, a dueling tree, for the first time. He brought his cousin who had never shot any firearm before with him. They had a blast competing with each other on the dueling tree. I believe that is the best gift I have ever bought.

To make the competition fair I brought got out my old Ruger Standard Model that I had kinda retired after getting a stainless Ruger MKIII and those are the 2 guns that they used. My grandson named the Ruger Standard Model RED, he said that it stood for 'Retired Extremely Dangerous'. He has a birthday coming up soon and I am going to give RED to him.

I really enjoy introducing kids to shooting. I probably had as much fun as they did and for the most part I just set back and watched. I am looking forward to them coming out again here in the next week or 2. Next time I may have to get in on the action.

Good for you RoadRunner. After taking my grandson to the range for many years, beginning when he was 13 years old, he just got his LTC and bought his first gun. He got a Sig P365x. I am a proud POP.
