My neighbor buddy's feeder on his lease about 10miles from the house. I heard the same from a buddy of mine in Waller as well... about 180 miles away.

Feed those deer something other than corn and they'll stick around.

I feed all year round with corn & protein.
They've had a steady diet of 20 percent protein as well as corn. They still aren't hitting the protein too much. They usually eat me out the house on the protein since it's a gravity feeder.

In the 3 seasons I've had my place, I never noticed a difference with the feeders being busy with having acorns on the ground. The deer were always plentiful.... this year seems to be different.

    No oaks on my place.
I use corn and wild bird feed mixed.
Most days not a kernel to be found.

    Hogs are a problem though.

The deer are all in my front and back yard...............

10 pointers chasing does all over the neighborhood.............

Yup, same here. They have been rutting for about two weeks here.

I feed all year, this is the first time they’ve slowed down. I use a 20%protein & corn mix.

When I get back from Fredericksburg next week I may dump a sack of the 30.06 cherry blend in it. Last time I did that I saw deer on my place i hadn’t seen before & they emptied the feeder in one day.

Hogs, deer, coons, squirrels, ducks, and crows all disappeared here east of Austin. Piles of corn under all feeders. It started to germinate after the rains.
