You need dynamite (or "similar material").
I forget the name but they have a new chemical/gas used for blasting rocks that has no shockwaves and does not need government approval. I am sure its way less satisfying as a good old dynamite blast though.

As far as the weight thing as posted above it is the weight of the machine not its lifting power. Youtube vids estimate it can lift about 800 lbs safely on a 1 ton.

I ended up buying the smallest mini ex the QS12R. I took out a 20ish In oak tree stump and several other smaller ones.

The 20" was a beast lol. I had to use my tractor to pull it out of the hole. With the dirt in the roots it weighed way to much for the excavator.

I built a ripper blade for cutting the roots. Blade is ar500 1/4"steel worked well I need to make serrations in it so it can saw over knawing though large roots.

Out the door price was $4400 From a guy 8 miles from my house. He imported a container of them sold all but the one he kept.

Buried line cutter 9000. Nice. AR500 steel too? Thats an included pistol target!

    lets hope not.

There is a warning post next to my fence that says buried communications line. Please call xxxxxxxxxxx before you dig. I called and its a dead number. I looked them up and they went belly up. I think that post and sign need to vanish just in case :)

My home backs up to a 50 acre park and behind that is a couple hundred acres of farm land. The original owner gave the "park" to the city and the area surround the front part of the park had homes built on them in like the 80's-90's.

Its amazing how tough ar plate even 400 is. I tried to punch some holes in it with our punch press at work and it shattered the 9/16" hardened punch. Now we regularly punch holes in metal up t0 3/4" mild steel in it.

The holes were to plug weld the 2 parts together. I did not want to weld the cutting edges.

What engine does that mini have in it? I've pulled some good sized stumps out with my machine but it took a lot of digging along with a chainsaw and a Sawzall to cut roots.

Here is my current project with my skid steer. Helping a friend with a pool demolition.

Its a 13HP clone of the harbor freight engine. Some come with a Brigs and Stratton clone.

For the most part when running the boom/bucket/tilt. If you go over 1/2 throttle when moving the main boom it will try and throw your ass off.

Now when moving if you can call it that crank it up and your doing a whopping 1 mph lol. Really need to trailer it from place to place

Well at least you have affordable options if you ever have to replace the engine. Sucks about the ground speed though.
