The newer Gen 3 tan Magpuls have proven themselves rather well. Not sure if the color matters, but the US Marines approved of them, and a few militaries use them with good success. Some of the units we train in Texas leave them in vehicles and aircraft with no real problems. For whatever reason only the tan Gen 3 Magpuls with windows are “approved” and used by NATO units.

Probably (no telling with the gov) because the MCT M3 pmags have all the "new" features. Older m3 pmags had some pretty severe 2nd round transposition issues, newer m3's, including all the MCT mags have an extra 2 ribs to prevent this issue.

    At least temporarily.

The only use i have for PMAGs is for converting to AR-180 magazines.

They don't handle long term loaded storage well, and m3's have compatibility issues with some AR's...

Lancer and real USGI aluminum. That's all i use
how are you having issues with magazines being stored? ive had a freind who has had gen 1 magpuls in a box since 2013 fully loaded with no issues whatsoever. and ive seen pmags that have been beat to absolute hell work good.

I've had great success with the Magpul Gen 2 mags, and prefer the windowed ones.

I do have some mil-issued steelies just for sentimental reasons, but I primarily use the PMAGs...

I might need to take apart some aluminum Sanchez magazines I got circa 2000 that have gray Magpul like followers. Makes me wonder if the followers came before Magpul magazines.

The Gen 3 Magpuls are a lot better than their older ones. From what I have seen, the newer military aluminum Brownells work great (Okay and others make them too).
Okay is out of the magazine business.

We have the newer Military contract “Brownells” brown followers made by Okay at work. The new magazine/follower/springs only work with the new contract magazines. Not sure what years they were made. But it’s the current military issue with our new shipments of M4A1’s. The C8A1’s we get come with Gen 3 tan Magpuls.

I myself collect weird AR mags, like I have a 93 AWB era bushmaster 20 rounder, a ramline combomag, an eagle ar15 mag, and an orlite, there is a few more I need for my AR mag collection
