Anyone in the Katy area have some AR building tools (castle nut wrench, roll pin punches, and a tap hammer) I could borrow for a day in the next couple weeks?

I should be getting everything for my build week after next, and since this will probably be my only build, I thought I would see if I could borrow the tools instead of purchasing them.

Thanks for any help that can be offered.

Disregard previous post. Just ordered an inexpensive Weston Gunsmithing Punch and Hammer Set online and will be picking up an AR multi-wrench from Primary Arms this week.

    Crappola.

I forgot to check that one by my house in Katy Mills. I could have saved $ on shipping. I wasn't sure if they would have them.

Did you happen to notice if they had on of those AR wrench/tools?

I happened to be in the Cypress area today and had never been to Cypress Armory so stopped by. Didn't know Mondays are appointment only.

    Just not my day.

I think they did. I checked the web site and called them up to make sure it was in stock.

I hate that. After a sucky/sleepy Monday at work, nothing would be better than randomly stopping by CA on the way home, and 'accidentally' taking home a new toy. :)

Seems I always want to go browsing on Mondays. Maybe it's better they (and AGR, which is also on the way) are closed Mondays lol.

    Well!!! Did you get one?

    Nope.

I gave it some thought and it dawned on me that my brother, who has a few AR's in his safe, might have one.

He does and lives a mile away. Also offered to let me pick over his A4 adjustable stocks and buffer tubes he has laying around.

So not only will I not have to buy the wrench, but I may not have to purchase a stock now.

Quite a boondoggle if I do say so myself.

    You are right.

I may have to go to Bass Pro to follow in cbigclarke's footsteps.

I just got an e-mail from Optics Planet that my item was out of stock and will ship in 1-3 weeks.

    Not happy.

building an AR is fun. Make sure you put your hammer spring on correctly - it's easy to install upside down and if you do you will get light strikes. :)
