I have a polymer AR lower I bought used. I put a PSA 5.56 upper on it. My first time out I put 30 rounds thru. Then a couple days ago after about 20 rounds it started firing 2 or 3 rounds per trigger pull. If I was real light on the trigger it was one shot but a killer more pressure and bang bang. Since I was in the mide of now where I tried different mags and d en a different upper. Same text. So iam thinkkng trigger issue.

My question is an this be fixed or am I looking at anew trigger?

    Thanks,Ed

    Out here by the lake!
Check the pins to make sure they are not walking out.
    1. MAKE SURE YOUR RIFLE IS UNLOADED
    2. REPEAT STEP 1
    3. With rifle off safety, press and hold trigger, this will drop the hammer.
    4. While still holding the trigger, rack charging handle rearward. This will reset the hammer.
    5. Release the trigger and you should hear a click if the disconnector is operating propperly. This click is the sound of the disconnector releasing the hammer to contact the trigger.
    6. Pull the trigger again and the hammer should drop.

This should tell you if the disconnector is doing its job. You could also do this with the upper off the lower and just manipulate the hammer with your opposite hand. Don't let the hammer strike the receiver.

I had the exact same problem years ago with a polymer lower I bought to do a build. It was an Omni Hybrid model.
First time I took it to the range, it would shoot 2 or 3 rounds per trigger pull.
Turns out I didn't put in one of the roll pins properly.

Care to explain in detail what "fixed " it?

I'm with Baboon and the disconnector. I had a shotgun that used ar triggers arrive as a "binary trigger". It turned out to be an out of spec disconnector. A little dremel work and I was all set. I would wager the hammer isn't consistently getting caught by the disconnector based on trigger pull.

Don't wanna be that guy but here goes. Polymer
Going Polymer turns an AR into a HighPoint and you can get a HighPoint for $150.
Take the gun apart and clean everything. Put it back together in a stronger lower. My 2cents if I actually had 2 cents to spare.

    Which "roll" pin?

Talk to me about the LPK and/or FCG used. New/used pieces? Any known attempts to polish things?

The function check baboon mentioned earlier is where I’d start though. Bring it to lunch later this month if you want.
