Is it supposed to work and be able to move when it is just an unassembled lower or does it need to be a complete rifle before it moves?

My lower got assembled today but the safety doesn't seem to move.

    I like my chrome parts!

I think mine moves when the upper and lower are seperate. Although when i installed my ambi safety I had to trouble at first like you are having. Just play around with it and maybe disassemble it it should be an easy fix.

Is the hammer locked back? You can't engage the safety if it's not charged.

The AR-15 safety should work whether it is assembled to the upper or not. It will NOT work if the hammer is not cocked. Repeat....the safety won't move to the "safe" position if the hammer is not cocked.

LOL, Jason you should load only two rounds into the gun when you get it together. Just a suggestion.

That is like #29 in a list of 100 reasons, #1 being that it is assembled by you. :tongueout:

If you'll note I never said that "I" assembled it, just that it got assembled... ;)

I may be a little off the deep end sometimes, but I usually know when to get help from a "traned profreshanol"
