Aransas Pass PD offering free CHL classes to residents

"It's not your typical police duty and they are one of the only police departments in Texas offering free concealed handgun license. The police chief says he wants people in the community to be educated when it comes to guns."

First I looked into this and it is legit with the first three classes offered filled up already, though they do plan to have more. Gotta say this is pretty dang awesome and amazing that it's the town I grew up in. I also know that APPD as a whole support open carry and have welcomed the local chapter of Open Carry Texas with open arms when they've shown up for the local trash clean ups.

That's amazing! Good for APPD! If more departments did that the community and the PD would both benefit!
