Out of curiosity can you say which one you work for? I work in the property insurance world for 40+ years. The company (FM Global) was highly rated in the service area and claims. In soft market times, many insurers rely on mascots and comedy to lure new customers. Especially in our country where so many people are defined by their sports teams, these consumers become loyal to mascots.
Perhaps the most ironic part is the service these customers get from songs of these social media forward, mascot-driven brands. Like their commercials, service is a joke.
I have some skin in this game, having been employed by an insurer for the past 23 years. We have no mascots, have won awards for our customer service, are owned by our policyholders (i.e., not stock traded), and return dividends to the communities in which we work and live.
Many insurers actions IMHO give plenty of valid reasons to support the industry's villainous rep. I'm proud that the organization I'm part of does not.
I shouldn't say so in this forum to avoid mixing my personal views with my employer's views. I can say at least that you and I didn't work at the same organization; my employer does not write any business in Texas. Took me 21 years to get into a remote work position (started here in Texas working from home office Nov. 2018). Fortunate to be able to celebrate my 23 anniversary on March 23, working from a home office in the BEST state of Texas as refugee from the People's Republik of Commiefornia. Cheers to you as another servant (positive; no sarcasm) of the P&C industry. I still see our collective role as vital to averting catastrophic losses to our society; my current role as a protector of our organization's integrity; guardian of our policyholders' trust (I lead our U.S. and Canadian Operational Audit teams).Out of curiosity can you say which one you work for? Amen. Arkwright-Boston family here.Out of curiosity can you say which one you work for? I work in the property insurance world for 40+ years. The company (FM Global) was highly rated in the service area and claims.
I believe those are GEICO, like the gecko ones. And they also do the Pinnochio line, some of which are hilarious (like the motivational speaker).Best insurance commercial is the raccoon and wood chuck one. Can't remember which insurance company puts this on but the commercials are funny. Guess it is kind of sad for the insurance company that I can't associate the funny commercials with any brand...
That applies to everything really. But yes.Just think how much cheaper our insurance rates could be if the insurance companies didn't spend billion's of dollars a year on advertisement?
Years ago my agent put us on with progressive. When the bill came I told find something else or I would find another agent. My choice had more to do with progressives commercials having me look closer @ what they stood for.I always make the comment How the heck is this commercial going to make me want to buy their insurance. I honestly think there is some trade show award for the stupidest insurance commercial too.
This thread is proof that it works.
