I've noticed that anytime I log into the forum, the next day all threads will be automatically marked as read regardless of if I was able to read them that day or not. If I don't log into the forum for a couple days, anything new since I last logged in will still be unread.

Is there any way to fix this behavior? I'd like for it to not mark things read unless I've actually read them.

Anything I can do on my end? I usualy use firefox to browse the forum. Maybe there's a way I can tell it to reject that cookie but keep all the other TGT ones?

This is something that is give and take, and has been on the forum since I started it. There are only 3 settings for the forum in regards to managing the "read" status of threads. Two are database options, one is auto, the other is a more manual version, and the other is a cookie / inactivity based setup. Right now we are on a cookie / inactivity based setup for two reasons:

    1) We had issues with the database versions beforehand. People not having any 'New Threads / Posts' to read. Forums getting marked read randomly, etc.

    2) Server Load

I can try switching to the database version, on auto, and see how well it works again. On paper it should be the best option.
