anyone know of a good smith at welding/machining?

I dropped my slide while going to clean it... and it didn't work out well.:banghead:

Ive already contacted Glock, but they would just slap a new Plain Jane slide on it. Not exactly what I want to do. (Its a G17 RTF2 Gilled)

Your slide should not have broken when it was dropped. I suspect it has a stress fracture and needs to be replaced. Simply welding it and stress relieving it may not fix it and could make it very dangerous. It's far safer to have Glock replace the slide. But no. I don't know anyone who would or could do work like that and put their name on it.
