I doubt loosing the lease is the primary reason.

Dang, they have been in business forever. I have never been in there before but have a bunch of friends that have purchased guns there. I have always heard they were nice. Again, I have never been there, just going off of what I have heard from others.

Gun prices are just fair even with the sale. Some pretty high. Can do better off web search.

Ammo prices, after sale discount, are just plain high for the most part.

At least one of the staff was very condescending to a customer who was obviously not well versed in guns. Had I been that customer, I would have walked out.

Overhead the staff person tell the other customer that whatever doesn't sell will just be shipped to another store. So they really don't have a strong motivation to sell at a high discount.

Primary reason we bought our building several years ago.....

Can't move to another location or just cheaper to go out of business altogether?

I wonder if they will still have a gun show presence?

They were some of the better tables at the local shows. Even bought my O/U from them years ago.

I've seen them at the guns shows (3 years ago +) and they were selling guns like crazy. Wonder what really happened?

Yeah I've been in their store once.

I wouldn't WANT to hang out there much anyway. They have to buzz you in because they have to keep the door locked to keep the vagrants out.

I doubt a lost lease would drive them out of business.

I talked with them at the Fort Worth gun show yesterday. Said they lost their lease and the owner was getting old and wanting to retire so he just decided to sell out his inventory and close everything down. The Ft. Worth show this weekend is their LAST show. The prices were very low. Colt 1911's selling for $719, Stainless 70 Series 1911's were $900 and change. Glock 43's for $319, with larger model Glocks selling for around $450. They had Sig P229's (police trade-ins) for $400 and change. They were doing a brisk business. They have always been competitive with other major dealers. They will be missed.

They were about $40-50 off their marked retail price.
Reasonable prices, but hardly a going out of business sale in an effort to liquidate inventory, especially on day 2 at 3pm at their last show.

So how much was left on the tables at 3pm? If this was indeed their last show, then the real sale prices will come soon.

They are not out of options to liquidate. The prices quoted were not fire sale I'll agree, but below retail and no doubt lower than other sellers at the show. I have no problem with them trying to get a bit of salvation from their inventory. Don't like the prices.... Walk away. Don't expect a DW Valor for $500.

I'm sorry to see them go and wish them well.

They had a 1/4 of an aisle. 3 tables were dedicated to 4473s.
Tables were still covered in product.

I might try to stop by the store in a week or two then next time I'm in the area. I wanted to go to the show today but instead got to spend my time replacing a gate opener after that little storm we had last weekend. Why the new gate opener couldn't fit the old hardware I'll never know. That would have cut about 75% off the install time.

They were hard to compete with at the show with the out of business sign, but only a few models were blow out sales. Rest just seemed about under what they normally go for. Lots of business they did though. Always sad to see a shop close.
