Looking to get some quick feedback. In a couple weeks, we are heading to Carrollton for a basketball tournament. We'll be playing near 35E and 121, so I was looking to stay in that area.

Any feedback on the location or specific hotels in that area would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

A little more digging puts most of the tournament locations on the NW or SW skirts of Dallas (Carrollton, Lewisville, Duncanville, DeSoto, Cedar Hill).
So any feedback on which of these main area is nicest and safest would be very helpful.

this is my neighborhood - there are several hotels on the south side of Vista Ridge Mall - along the 121 feeder road (west of I-35)

So...is that a good area? If I were telling people that was in or near my neck of the woods, it would probably be a warning to look elsewhere :)

Definitely don't stay in duncanville or desoto. Lewisville could be an option except when you've gotta drive south. Any clue which place you'll play more games?

Okay. I've got the Courtyard Marriott - Addison reserved (4165 Proton Drive). Went ahead and reserved this so I'm not shoot outa luck as we get closer. I can cancel anytime up until arrival night, so if anybody has feedback on this, please let me know.

Addison is good. Lots of restaurants, business types people always there eating during lunch time. Just watch out for 635 during rush hour, it's a mess up there.

addison isnt nearly as close to Carrollton as Lewisville is- there's a courtyard marriott right off 121 and I-35

anyway - as stated - addison has a good selection of places to eat

do NOT - i repeat - DO NOT - go on 635. avoid it like the plague

and yes, Carrollton (most parts) is a nice part of town
