    Way out here
I would like to buy about a thousand 5.56 or .223 rounds. It seems that online is the best way to go, since I can avoid sales tax on a fairly spend purchase, and it saves having to drive around town. There is also free shipping to be found when ordering in these quantities.

I just want rounds for target shooting. I will buy hunting rounds in smaller quantities. How does this look? Are there any rounds I need to stay away from? Gun is a Colt LE6920.

Just ordered 1000 rd from sportmans guide, Wolf gold, not the best I know but it is brass case for .37 pr rd and free shipping. Free shipping ended last night but they offer it like once a week or so, so you just have to wait a few days till it rolls around again, They seem to have some stock lately. 37cents is the cheapest I found for brass. Checked Freedom and they didnt have much.

If your gun can't shoot steal. Something is wrong with your gun

Tavor will not feed any steel. At least half of the ARs I have seen will not cycle it either.

Mini 14 eats it like a fat kid in an ice cream shop.

Tim over at the military arms channel, all he shoots just about is steel. He has a Tavor, and I'm pretty sure he ran wolf through it

Keep in mind that some ranges aren't going to let you shoot steel-core ammo.

edit: not talking about the steel case stuff, but the M855 penetrating rounds in the original ad link

PSA has the Federal American Eagle NATO 5.56 XM193LC in stock. 420 rounds on stripper clips for $170. 40 cents a round, but shipping is usually very reasonable and no tax.
