    For a year or more I have been looking into a fully stabilized video camera and the DJI Osmo sure seems to fit the bill but I don't know much about the Go Pro offering.

    Do any of you mess with such things?

    The OSMO uses pretty much the same gimbal as their quads. I have no experience with the handheld version but the quads get very stable video.

    I don't know how durable they are. GoPro has a similar system I believe that uses a regular GoPro camera, I would expect it to be more durable.
