Up to 900 ab crunches before I have my second cup of coffee every day. That is enough suffering for this old guy, lol
    Braggard.

I can barely get 100 push up out of my crippled ars a few times a week and walk a mile a couple times. A week. That puts me flat out for a couple days. Too many back surgeries.

    Enjoy your health. Its perishable.

Got to work up to it. Back when I was seriously training, I'd do 50 miles a day 4 days a week after work, 150 miles on Saturday, and I don't remember many sundays.

No one will believe me but before I was a crippled crotchety bastards I held weight lifting records for my weight class in HS. My graduation PT numbers from the academy were 80 pushups and 72 sit ups in a minute and a sub 5 min 30 second mile. That mile killed me as it was almost a sprint the whole way. Never got any of those numbers again but stayed close till my infection after my second fusion almost killed me.

After that I was only able to lift weights. No running or sit ups. Those movements were too painful.

What could have been had I not let them cut on me?

My back is wasted & I never let them cut on it. Standing become painful & I need to sit or lay down. Trying to cook or even make a sammich approachesmy limits. I told the wife I need a tall barstool on wheels for the kitchen. She thinks it a bad idea.

Yep. I try to help mow and trim and occasionally lift something if I'm careful but I can barely extend my arms forward for a few seconds.

I had my last fusion last july. I've got my leg strength back and haven't fell since. It's the first of my nearly dozen back surgeries that was as successful as expected.

I guess your damned if you do or damned if you dont.

When I was riding I would do 20 miles after work along the bayou. I did some night riding in the summer because of the heat. Herman park @ night was homeless zombies acting like Yogi & BuBu bears hitting thetrash cans. I rode in traffic to get to the trails & that was why I gave up riding. Cars in the medical center really never see bicycles.
I read that you need to ride triple the distance you run to obtain the same aerobic benefit. I was running 6 miles, so I worked up to 18 and then just rounded it it 20. One of my favorite places to ride is Marine Creek Lake.

My wife did 100 sit-ups and 200 crunches pretty much every day for 37 years. Only time she didn’t was when she was big-belly preggers, then she only did it 3 days a week in her 50’s.

Cycling is my go-to for keeping in shape. I laid off for a while in november/december and january and resumed slowly riding 30-40 minutes then kind of hanging out at 1 hour 4 or 5 times a week. I found by getting a cycle computer that tracks miles/speed/heart rate/etc it gives me some numbers to monitor my activity. There is a pretty good built-in app on the samsung galaxies. Doctor was about to put me on blood pressure medicine and had me on for about a week, then my cycling levels increased and she took me off. I ride about an hour a day, average 13-16 mph burning about 800 calories per ride. Not much on weight loss, but does reduce the girth which is as or more important.

Selle Anatomica makes great saddles that won't leave your bottom hurting. Stick with it,

Bought a road/mountain hybrid bike on Friday. Bought it new( one year free tune ups from Galaxy Bicycles in San Marcos, Texas) Giant “Roam” XL frame.
My goal was to do 75+ miles a week.
I’ll get there, but not this week, lol.

Have to take it in for new bike tune up next week and I was hoping to get a bunch of miles on it to break some stuff in. Total miles since Friday afternoon, 15, ha.
I’ll get there. Just won’t be as quick as I thought.

Only 9.16 miles today. But a 1025 foot change in elevation over a 4.5 mile leg. I’m happy with it.

    Fraking show offs.

I walked a mile this morning. I'll be flat on my back a couple days. Had to take extra pain meds to do it.

2 or 3 days I'll be able to do it again.

    Riding a bike? Never
