Bought me a refurbished HP to replace the computer I built 6+ years ago. Man, this thing is smokin' compared to the old one. Gonna see how the refurbished one holds out. Got a good deal. Now I have a computer that can handle the new games. Might have to go buy one. Maybe, Call of Duty MW3.
I've had my HP for just over 2½ years and it's been a real eye opener. It's the m9080n with a quad core processor and it screams through games (the few I play anyway.) I hope your refurbished one works for a loooong time.
With Windows (even Windows 7) just remember to keep a vigilant eye on both your startup programs and also on processes. Both become clogged up over time with unnecessary programs loading at startup or running in the background, and even with present-day machines nothing will kill performance faster than garbage using up your processor time and RAM.
I actually just got myself a new laptop for work this morning. It's one of the Sunday deals. Nice Dell with a 1st generation Core i3 processor and 4 gigs of RAM.
I love Thanksgiving week when I'm in the market for stuff like this!
