Well it isn't actually my first gun...just the first one I've bought new instead of being given to me. It's a 4" Springfield XD compact 45acp...black frame/stainless slide. Bought it today at the range and put 200 rounds through it. I love it.
understood...excuse the crappy phone pic:Rule #1 on this forum....no pic, no gun!
I was trying to make that decision too. Since I was able to easily conceal both the 4" and the 3", I went with the larger round...I'm glad I did.Great choice.I also have the XD40 and will not part with it.My next one will probably be a 45 like yours.I am still contemplating if I want the sub compact or 4".
Mine came with both mags as well?...a 10 round and 13 round. Both the compacts and sub-compacts come with both I believe.I like the extended mag and the shorter mag that come with the sub.Its hard to choose.
Actually I believe there are "compact" versions of all three barrel lengths..."compact" in this case meaning a shorter grip that can be extended to full-length with an included extended magazine.Congrats, great choice, I have a 4-inch .40 and love it ... a terminology point, I think Springer calls the 4-incher their Service model ... 3-inchers are compact, 5 tactical ...
