Boy, 8, Sent Home From School for Jesus Drawing

TAUNTON, Mass. — A Massachusetts man says his 8-year-old son was sent home from school and ordered to undergo a psychological evaluation after drawing a stick figure Jesus on a cross because the teacher thought it was too violent.
The man told the Taunton Daily Gazette for a story Tuesday his second-grader made the drawing Dec. 2 after his teacher asked children to sketch something that reminded them of Christmas.
The father, Chester Johnson, said on WBZ-TV that the teacher became upset when his son said he drew himself on the cross. Johnson says school officials overreacted.
The boy was cleared to return to school after the evaluation.
Superintendent Julie Hackett said she could not discuss an individual student and the school followed protocol.
Hackett didn't return calls from The Associated Press on Tuesday.

The boy has the right idea. Christmas is about Christ, not egg-nog and presents or a fat guy riding a sled pulled by flying deer.

These A-Holes can support a fisting czar but not a kid? That stupid teacher, school, and community needs to be shipped off to Cuba.

Public education's time has come and gone.

It FIGURES it was Massachusetts! Why anyone would live in that insane, effed up state is beyond me. They make California seem conservative by comparison....

It boggles the mind that this happens in our schools. Further boggles that mind that we pay for it.

Someone thought way too far into this, just your classic overreaction.

If the kid wants to be Jesus Christ then let him.

Can we all imagine what our society would be like if all of our young people wanted to be like The Messiah....wow, we wouldn't need this forum because we wouldn't need guns!!

BTW, the school system should "count their blessings" it wasn't my son they sent home.....
