Brass Processing

Anyone want to recommend a good brass processor? I have some 223 brass that I don't really want to process. If I can get someone to process at a decent price, i would rather do that.

I live in the DFW area and have a tube that is 16x10x5 full of brass. Not really sure how many that is...

13.6lbs of 223 brass is about 1000 casings, you can weigh it to get a rough ballpark. For processing that includes full-length sizing, swaging, and trim I would expect to pay about $50 per 1k. Scharch sells processed brass for just over $100 IIRC, so you can save some money if you process it yourself.About how much do you need processed?

Call Harry at Southwest Ammo [972-285-3644] in Mesquite. They sell reloaded ammo, so they might want to buy yours. You did not mention what caliber your brass is. I assume it is all once fired brass. I recommend you sell it locally and buy new brass. I wouldn't want to rely on someone I didn't know to prep the cases I planned to use for my rifle loads.

Keep it in Texas. Danny Henry in Abilene is back processing brass again. I have used him a lot, and he does excellent work. He sizes, trims, swages primer pockets, and tumbles rifle brass (5.56, 30-06, 7.62 NATO) shiny for 3.5 cents per round. Pistol (45, 9mm) for 2.5 cents per round.

I've found Danny to be the fastest guy around, and very fair delivery terms. Mail in flat rate boxes and get your own brass back, not an exchange program. Danny is a competitve shooter and he knows what needs to be done, and he does it right.
