    What did he do/say?
Someone was trying to speak for another person. He made them start over 3 times to make sure a point of order couldn't be called later saying she testified "for" another person.

It's the kind of shit they pull to delay a vote until the bill is dead.

    1911 Starting now:
Terry Holcomb going over the Bill - do away with 30.08 - unlicensed carry would be covered by 30.05. I'm thinking gunbuster signs would keep out unlicensed handgun carriers. 30.06/30.07 stays as is. Would probably leave incentive to get an LTC as well.

Yep. The anti gun folks either don't know or won't admit how little the classes actually teach.

Mostly the importance of buying lawshield insurance, youtube video with center axis relock guy and 10 minutes at the range, counting getting everybody in, set up, and out.

And they used to drag that out all day.

Y'all know who makes up the OSHA board?
The big wigs of the safety gear companies.

    Same scam, state level.

Texas Gun Sense Director - having CC basically says we got it wrong 20 years ago. Says LTC class is important because it teaches you how to shoot...

No offense to any police officers, but I am tired of hearing the same testimony from PD groups and chiefs who don't care about the Constitution whatsoever.

I did like one officer at the beginning of hearing for 375 who said real police officers can tell who is carrying illegally based on observation, and I did like him. Wish they had more testimony from his type of officer.

TSRA and NRA spokewomen all giving support for bill.
Strange how they couldn't get on board 2 years ago and were totally silent.

There was a minor revolt since then. As it turns out, there actually was support within the rank and file of the TSRA for passage of CC, but the question really wasn't asked. I can tell you that having talked with some of the old board members, I really didn't find any real resistance to it, other than one notable exception.

And to be fair - CC simply didn't have support 2 years ago within the legislature. We started sensing a change in that position a few months ago - we're still not sure that we can swing it, but TSRA has come out in support of both bills. We're hearing that it's likely the two bills will be merged into one - and NOW is the time for you guys to start climbing on YOUR officials and tell 'em to get on board.

As a practical matter, the first 200 bills filed will generally end up being heard and acted on - which is why we need to raise the heat in a tactful and polite way. Tell them to co-sponsor one of the two bills, and let's get this finally DONE in Texas.

And please - stop blaming the instructors. The course material was developed by DPS - as were the classroom hours requirements, NOT the instructors. Sure - there are a SMALL handful that are basing their positions on their own self-interest, but most I know are pretty much "hey - we'll do what they tell us". Never forget that the LTC gives you a "pass" on the NICS check. In fact, the ONLY reason that we only went for extending the license validity to 5 years was because if we did it for a longer term, we'd lose the NICS bypass.
