That sounds like a really sweet combo for a cheap AR. I'm thinking about doing the same.

The first upper I bought was a DPMS A2 carbine for like $385 shipped from MidwayUSA. They have sales, occasionally.

Wasn't that big of a fan and sold it. Bought BCM and will never look back.

Yeah - but what I'm looking for in my next build hardly ever comes up....24" bull barrel. But ah'm patient....<G>

A 24" barrel!? Thats a lot of rifle for not that much more velocity. How far you planning to reach out and touch things? . . . . . . . . .Of course I would like one myself.

Had 3 of 'em in 24" i never even fired. Sold one for $75 and cut the other 2 into SBRs...I guess I should've checked to see if anybody needed one...

I'm curious, how short of an SBR can you run with a rifle-length gas system?
