As for plucking, I’d go for a plucker if I was routinely processing chickens. But, if I wanted to be protein producer, I’d have laying hens and meat rabbits.

We used 12" long 3/4 metal pipe with a 90 elbow in it. Hold them by the scruff at the bottom of the neck. Swing down across your hand striking the top of the neck/bottom of the head and try not hitting your thumb. One strong whack does the job. Kills them real quick and clean. Not much better than fresh rabbit cacciatore.Yep. Quicker, easier, more reliable to just use a piece of rebar to broomstick them.
