My parents came to Texas in the mid 1970's from Pakistan. Does that make me a first or second generation Texan, since I was one of the first of our family to be born on this land?

Amazing how many posters here arent from texas. I was born in california but left soon after, dad was in the navy. All I can say to our californian bretheren is "Learn to swim" and "see ya down in Arizona bay"

First.

I'm 5th generation, I think. Came over from Louisiana after the War of Northern Aggression. The other half of my family is originally from around the Ozarks in Arkansas ... needless to say, I'm 100% shoeless coonass.
