With the final launch of the shuttle and the recent political wrangleing I was thinking about all the "space junk" scattered throughout the museums in Houston. Most of it you have to pay to see. We also have a large training facility at the Johnson Space center with Giant pools for zero gravity Astronaut training. Inside those pools are... You guessed it shuttle cargo bays, robot arms and I suspect most of a shuttle. We have a cockpit in space center Houston. There are more than a few sets of main engines, landing gear and several sets of tiles. Most other parts like tail, wings and all the rest can be scrounged or fabricated. I mean it does not have to fly and would be an awesome static display.
