I've been living in Midland since the end of March...I have spotted two people carrying at this point. Back in TN, I would spot somebody carrying concealed at least twice a week!

People dress about the same between the two. I see a lot of people working in a restaurant and going to a decently large church...but no printing!

Maybe you guys are just THAT good at concealing...

    .
Tennessee population is roughly 6.5 million - Texas about 26 million - would guess with a 4x more population and the Texas "carry" mindset there would be at least 4x the number of folks who carry here - perhaps we just hide it better :cowboy: yeehaw

I would say there are a lot of CHL'ers in Midland. The classes have been full for several years now, in the area. Most classes had been booked for a good 4-6 weeks out.

In addition, I carried daily when I was in Midland and considering where I normally had to go, and on occasion what I had to do, or carry with me, legally, I'd say you would be surprised at how many people do actually have a firearm on them.

During a wait in line at the bank, myself another patron and his wife started bs'g. They made a comment about my shirt, don't remember what, as I had forgotten I was wearing an NRA shirt, and somewhere in there, the prim and proper couple in the mid fifties stated somewhere along the way, "...that more people need to start carrying a gun. There's just way too much crime here now with the oil boom." More discussion, he was carrying a FS 1911 and she had 9mm Glock in her purse. Similar story at the north side Walmart.

So I 'd probably concur with that 1 in 5 being a low guesstimate.

Awesome. I've seen a few NRA and USMC shirts, but couldn't see a print anywhere. I'll take ya'lls word for it. I like Texas a little bit more after this thread.

I liked the cursive joke. lol
