Up here in the Texarkana area we dodged a bullet. Cold and rainy but didn't ice . I picked up in Tyler today , the trees were still iced over but the roads were just wet. Tuesday coming back from Caddo Mills I hit a few slick spots on bridges in Sulphur Springs but got to dodge the ice the rest of the week. It killed the stores business where I park the transport truck though.

This is Texas not the corn belt. Trees are breaking from the drought has weakened them. I have lived in both Texas & the Midwest. I stay here over any season up yonder.
    I've lived both.

I'll take the wet and cold.

Few, even in these parts, have seen anything approaching anything close to a tough season.

We've been cutting the HVAC off during the daytime all week. The house maintains at about 63, and we all hang out in the living room with the fireplace going. It's actually been more comfortable than I initially thought it would be.
