Looking for a cheap but still good quality night vision scope. I have seen some first gen scopes for about $600.00. I usually get up close to my hogs at about 30 yards.
Apparently you can do 30 yards for about $50... You'll probably need a different illuminator of some kind, and you'll need some kind of sight that works with NV. Night Vision on the Cheap | The Firearm Blog
All cameras can capture infrared light. Most have IR filters as generally its undesirable to have that mixed in with visible light. What that is, is a camera with no IR filter and small display. Overpriced me thinks... Go find a small camcorder that has a night mode and strap that to your rifle. Same thing. You could probably even find one super cheap where the recording hardware is broken but the camera and display still works fine. You'll also need a pretty powerful infrared illuminator to see anything past 20yards or so.i wonder how something like this would work
