CHL and Foster Care

I have not been able to find an answer about this, but maybe someone here knows.

My wife and I are going to become foster parents for 2 and 3 year old brothers in a few days.
I have my CHL class next weekend.

The Foster rules state that all firearms and ammo must be kept locked up separately, as in no loaded weapons, even if they're in a safe.
Does this also apply if you're carrying?

That's one you need either a paid for legal opinion or hard answer from the Foster Parents management. An internet based opinion could lead to a no-bueno situation.

A bill passed a couple of years ago specifically allowing CHL holders with Foster children to transport then in a vehicle, but it was very specific as to that.

You can transport your handgun in a vehicle while you transport Foster children. Texas law prohibits any rule that would prevent. In your home there are RULES. You can lose your foster status if you violate those rules, but there are no laws broken.

My parents fostered many children as I grew up. We adopted three that were brother and sister bringing our total kids = 7.

Good foster parents are God sent for these kids in need. We had some great times and some real heartbreaks fostering.
