    Maybe
CL for Carry License, goes in hand with Driver's License
    HL
PL for Pistol License, or slang Packin' License

Something has to be better than LTC, which also reminds me of military rank.

Lol Hate to say it man but those are not "cooler'".

License to Carry seems pretty straight forward. A credential for the purpose.

'Handgun license' leaves itself open for use in the propaganda arena. Do we really want to be questioned if we have a handgun license? Which implies necessary at any time. Or just need a license when carrying?
There just some verbiage you don't want floating around and rolling off the tongue here in Texas. Anyway that's just a secondary thing but marketing matters.

    45tex; All,

I've said for quite a while now that it would be easy to put the CHL information on the TDL or TX ID card (the so-called "walkers permit".), phasing the change in at renewal time.
(I'm told that the strip on the back of the DL has room for a great deal of additional/important information. - Some things that could be a life-saver in an emergency would be the blood-type, chronic medical conditions & known allergies.)

    yours, satx
