As a follow up,, I applied online early January and i received my my renewal license this last weekend in the mail. Painless, quick and easy...now should I dispose of the old license because it didn't expire until June 2014, or is it no longer valid since I received my new one?

Are you saying you are holding a license that does not expire until June 2019. or does the new license expire about 5 years from whenever it was issued a few weeks ago?

My old license expires 6-5-2014.....my new license expires 6-5-2019......

If BATFE gets wind of that, TX/CHL will not bypass NICS. By Federal Law, a license cannot be valid for more than 5 years. Of course the simple soliution is to just put an issue date of 6/5/2014 on it.
