I wish mine had the rail for it. I found mine lightly used for $550 and am really happy with it. At about 300 rounds the grips needed to be re-tightend and mine suffers from the ambi-safety coming out at random times.

Me and a guy with a $1400 Sig 1911 traded guns for a clip. His was nice, but not $1400 nice. He put all 8 in about a quarter at 7 yards with my lowly PT1911 on his first clip.

I handled a lot of 1911's in that price range, and the Taurus was the most comfortable grip and trigger pull of them all.

    quality 1911

Despite what you may have heard, you CAN get a good 1911 without taking out a 2nd mortgage. Check out the Rock Island Armory 1911's.
This is my CS (Compact) in .45. 3 1/2" barrel, GI sights and parkerized finish.

Cost was under 400 in January, and you can still get them in the mid-400's.

Here's my new full sized 2tone tactical:

Brushed nickle frame and matte black slide, combat hammer and trigger, beavertail grip, shoots great and priced at 470.00 at a local dealer here in Mesquite. Great value for the money.
