There are some pretty strict requirements for selling power back to the power company. First, it has to 14,600 volts or greater. If you are making $$, more power “from” you?
Usually it ends up not used.
However, if your receiving a check then go brother!
The weekly email updates showing $2 - $8 usage amounts don't take into account my power generation, just what I pull from the grid, so they aren't useful info. I got my second bill yesterday since buying the place. I "used" $19 worth of power but they credited me with about $160 worth of power for a net to me of $140 for the last 30 days. Add that to the previous 30 days and my total net credit amount is a bit over $300 for the last 2 months. Of course, that's with me rarely there and the A/Cs at 80 degrees. I bought the place for about market value so it's kinda like I got the solar stuff for free. From what I'm reading my system would probably be about $30,000 for a turnkey install. Given the limited data, and making a few assumptions, that's a 17 year pay-back.
