I won a Glock 23 in a raffle last year. I like it OK but I’m not a huge .40 fan. I have done some reading and it looks like all it takes is a barrel and magazine swap to run 9 mm (and apparently doesn’t work the other way). Is anyone familiar with this conversion?
I would swap the ejector and extractor to the G19 versions of the same generation for complete reliability. But it will run with just a conversion barrel and mag swap.
I bought a trade-in police G22 and by having an aftermarket 9mm conversion barrel, and a factory (or aftermarket) G31 barrel, you can interchange between 40, 9mm, and .357 Sig. I do use ammo specific mags, mainly to keep which mag is loaded with what straight.
You can do the same trick with a G23 or G27. You can run the same barrels in both G23 and G22. I have specific barrels for the 27. Lone Wolf Alpha Wolf barrels work extremely well for me.
