This is true. Another thing is, when it warms up a little, like when the sun shines on the roof. That frozen condensation is going to melt. If it’s in the insulation, or drips down on the insulation, it will reduce the insulation’s ability to slow the transfer of heat.
I live out in the country, and have a well. If I let the faucets drip, my well pump runs periodically. This keeps pipes down there from freezing up. Specifically the line going to the pressure switch, which is 1/4”, and is the first to freeze up.
