Carbine benefit match for 4H Shooting Sports / JCSSA Jr. Club

Please RSVP by responding to this post if you are planning on attending. We need to get a head count etc for food/drinks, etc.

Come join us for a day of shooting and show your support for the future of shooting sports.

Saturday October 30, 2010 Cross Timbers IDPA will be hosting a carbine match at Johnson County Shooting Sports Assn. (JCSSA) Range (Alverado, TX).

The proceeds from this match will be donated to the Johnson County 4H/JCSSA Jr. Club shooting program.
The 4H / Junior Club is a group ran by volunteers to teach kids ages 8-18 the fundamentals of shooting rifle and pistol (air, rimfire, centerfire, and muzzleloader) as well as archery. This group is ran at little or no cost to the kids, thus the group relies on folks from the shooting community to support the program. Without support there is no program, and without programs such as this there are less kids (future generation of shooters) exposed to shooting sports

    Official 4H shooting sports description
The focus of all 4-H programs is the development of youth as individuals and as responsible and productive citizens. The National 4-H Shooting Sports Program stands out as an example. Youth learn marksmanship, the safe and responsible use of firearms, the principles of hunting and archery, and much more. The activities of the program and the support of caring adult leaders provide young people with opportunities to develop life skills, self-worth, and conservation ethics.
Cross Timbers' goal is to raise $1,000 with this match.
