My take? I turn off the news, and live my life and don't worry about things I have no control over. I don't dwell on the bad all the time, do what I can as far as voting, but I don't let any of this political nonsense consume my life or what I want to do.
No real red-blooded conservative likes what is happening, if they truly love this country, and what it was founded on.
In 2019, my look on life came into a totally different perspective, and what was really important in my life. Prior to mid 2019, I was very much like yourself, very focused on our rights, guns and freedom. That summer was diagnosed with cancer. I damn near lost my wife. That put my entire life into perspective. I knew I could allow politics to consume my life anymore. Doesn't mean I don't care, or that I don't do anything, but I took a different approach. I do what I can, as I can, and don't worry about what I have no control over. Life is too short, and sometimes loved ones, their lives can be gone in an instant.
I hope that helps you understand what maybe you need or should do. I hope you take this to heart and understand I was very lucky I didn't lose my wife. It was truly a really rough two years for us.
