Depends on what you call a Christmas movie. One whose theme is about Christmas or one whose theme is set around Christmas time.

Die Hard is not exactly about Christmas.

Granted it is not about the birth of Christ.

The story is of an average working class guy that faces the trials and tribulations events that he has little control over. His triumphant spirit to overcome the evil that is portrayed by the thieves.

Really, isn’t Hans Gruber the Grinch? Taking pleasure by disrupting a Christmas celebration of hard working people for his own gain?

The manner that it plays out is the good people come together to celebrate Christmas, versus the forces that would stop the celebration for their own selfish reasons.

Oh, and toss in some over zealous FBI agents with their own agenda.

I just want to know where they got all those nice MP5’s in California? Oh yeah it was pre 1986, you could just buy them...

The point is that the story could have been made at any time of the year, granted many lines would have had to have been changed.

Most Christmas movies are pretty crappy. In that regard, Die Hard fits the mold.

National Lampoons is the best Christmas movie.
