    I grew up near Stith.
    We had 2 channels .
    I spent my time outside.

    We had 3 channels.

I spent a lot of my time outside as well.

Now kids never go outside at all hardly, too many electronic nannies. That, and it's no longer safe for kids to go outside.

    Lol! It wasn't safe outside.
Rattlers, cactus, grass burrs and goat heads, coyotes, skunks.
That damned tom turkey the hired Mexican had hated me as much as I hated him. I swear that Angus bull thought the place belonged to him. I sure gave him all the room I could.

Well, I did live in a neighborhood, but, my parents did buy me three different mini bikes, that was potentially dangerous.
Luckily I never got hurt, but not for lack of trying, lol.

Yep. Watched Cpt Gus with the Popeye cartoons. Watched it after school. Think it was on channel 5. I remember they had a contest to name his boat. The winning name was "Amigus". Moonpie got it first.

We had two channels when I grew up in Waco, 6 and 10. They came on at 6:AM and shut down after "High Flight" about 11:00 PM. The TV was a huge cabinet with a 12" screen and had to warm up for 20 minutes!

Sometimes we could get Channel 11 out of Dallas, which had all the good shows on. Giligans Island, Green Acres, Petticoat Junction, Beverly Hillbillies, Three Stooges, etc.

Had to google it. No idea I didn't think, but I never lived near San Antonio. But when I googled it, I sure as heck recognized the photo of the guy, so now I have to think about why I remember him.

Photos I saw were in black and white, which is how I remember them. These days folks get HD picture over the internet with no commercials.

Times have changed, but at least we can see women in bras on TV now instead of the mannequin in the cross your heart commercials.

We first read in the daily comics, then listened to the "Buster Brown Show" on radio, until it we saw it when it finally came on TV.

"I got shoes. You got shoes. Why, everybody's got to have shoes! And there's only one kinda shoes for me – good ole Buster Brown Shoes!"
