I agree. He left a few guns and my dad has them other than the 30-30 and another that I have. I will most likely end up with the others one day as my brother and sister arent much into firearms. I do consider myself blessed that i will be able to pass them to my son and possibly nieces and nephews if they take a liking to shooting in the future.Lucky you, it is great that you something to remember him!

My dad sold his to one of my aunts friends when he was in a bind. I asked her about it so I could buy it back for him but my uncle helped her sell it to someone else and he has since passed and no one knows who he sold it to for her. My dad painted his camo and carved a notch on the bottom of the stock for each deer he killed with it. Bought new in the 70s or 80s... would love to have it back for sure.My dad has his Sears and Roebuck 3030 and he loves it to this day.
Be nice to know what generation hasn’t heard of it. I’m thinking the youngest generations, but I’ve been wrong before. Wife is always reminding me of this little factoid....I find it shocking that there is over 15% that haven't heard of a 30-30.
That would be interesting to know.Be nice to know what generation hasn’t heard of it. I’m thinking the youngest generations, but I’ve been wrong before. Wife is always reminding me of this little factoid....
That sucks. I know my dad still has his although showing some signs of wear he will not give it up. I love my bolt actions but a nice lever gun would be greatMy dad sold his to one of my aunts friends when he was in a bind.
