Used the dishwasher once to clean and degrease the cylinders and heads from an old Suzuki GT380. It worked really well, but I had to be quick to keep the flash rust from being a problem in the bores.

Has to do, mainly, with Expense for things that I can't also use in other shooting applications. I certainly DO NOT look down my nose at BP firearms, for I have seen them in action and they can be impressive. I just have a whole lotta other sh-sh-sh-shi-STUFF, that I need to acquire.

I've gotten in trouble for using the dishwasher and oven to clean then dry gun pars and magazines. A quarter of a two car garage is dedicated to safe and gun work bench. Dad's got me beat. My parents have a 3 car garage and you can't park a single car in it due to all the torn down engines and general shop stuff. The guns take up a room in the house.

Wife hates the smell of Hoppes so there was no more cleaning guns in the bedroom.
