I'm looking for a good gunsmith in El Paso. I need someone to help me determine if a Mauser I have is in good enough shape to be fired , and also to maybe cast the chamber to find out what caliber it is.
In my opinion (and many others as well) the best gunsmith in El Paso would be Chuy. If you do a quick search for "Chuys gun shop" you should come up with the phone number. He is in the Northeast of town...but he is the only one I will trust my guns to.
Actually, I have seen his name come up a few times when searching online. I haven't met anyone who has done business with him before. I will look him up again. Thanks so much for the recommendation...
Here is Chuy's phone number (915) 822-3030. I bought a "Ruby" pistol (WWI from Spain) and it didn't have a firing pin. After calling all over El Paso in an effort to find a gun smith that could help me, several other Gun smiths recommended that I call Chuy. I brought the gun to Chuy and he was able to make me one...it shoots perfectly now. He truly has a passion for working on guns. Hope he is able to help you.
Chuy was recommended to me and I would also recommend him. He's been in business for many, many years. He took a family heirloom, a 1929 LeFever 12 gauge shotgun I had and took two dents out of the barrels for me. He did a professional job and the old girl still shoots sweet!
