It’s that time of the year to save on taxes if you need some supplies.

Texans can save money on emergency supplies this weekend during the state’s sales tax holiday. Beginning on Saturday at 12:01 a.m. until midnight Monday, Texans can buy certain items without paying sales tax, including batteries, flashlights, some portable generators and fuel containers. There is no limit on the number items you can buy tax-free during the annual event.

There are several items on that list that need replacing, and replenishing, right now. I think I will head to town tomorrow and save a few bucks, then spend it at the Chinese restaurant on Stateline Glenn B recommended.

A couple years back I got a Jackery solar power generator from Home Depot, got a discount from Jackery, a discount from Home Depot for being a Mil Veteran, and no taxes. Back then it was classified as a generator.

Amazon did the discount on set things as well (but not everything).

I might get a canvas tarp this year. Debating on size (7x9 maybe).
